Scholarships & Fee Waiver

 

   

 

Pearson is happy to announce the Pearson Law Scholarships and Test Fee Waivers for candidates pursuing law in India. There is no separate application form to be submitted to quality for the scholarships or fee waivers.



Eligibility


To become eligible for these, you must register for the LSAT—India and sit for the test. Scholarships and fee waivers will be determined on the basis of your LSAT—India scores. These scholarships and fee waivers will be given on the basis of merit.


3 scholarships of Rs.50,000 each and 20 scholarships of Rs.20,000 each will be awarded to the top candidates based on their LSAT—India scores. Along with that, 80 test fee waivers will be awarded to the meritorious candidates, again based on their LSAT—India scores.


To be awarded the scholarship, candidates must send in a copy of their first month/quarter/year tuition fee receipt, duly attested by a gazetted officer, by post or courier to the following address –

Candidates should write “LSAT—India” at the bottom of the envelope.


The late date for receipt of these is 30 September, 2010. Candidates whose receipts are not received by this date, or received after this date, will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.



Pearson Law Scholarship Policy-2010


Pearson is pleased to announce the Pearson Law Scholarships to recognize and award meritorious students pursuing legal studies in India. There are several scholarships being made available to meritorious students enrolling for Bar Council of India (BCI) approved 5-year (e.g. B.A., LL.B.)/3-year LL.B./LL.M. programs in the academic year 2010. Students must enroll for these programs at a BCI-approved college/university.


In addition, Pearson is also pleased to announce Test Fee Waivers for meritorious candidates. Under the fee waivers, Pearson will reimburse the LSAT—India test fees to the eligible candidates. There will be no other condition or requirement to get this waiver apart from merit.


These scholarships and waivers will be based on the scores of the candidate in the LSAT—India. There is no separate application form to be submitted to qualify for the scholarships or fee waivers.



Scholarships and Test Fee Waivers Applicable for 5-year BA. LL.B. Candidates


 

  1. 3 (Three) scholarships of Rs.50,000 each to the first three meritorious candidates
  2. 17 (Seventeen) scholarships of Rs.20,000 each to the next seventeen meritorious candidates
  3. 70 (Seventy) test fees waivers of Rs.3,500 each to the first seventy meritorious candidates

 



Scholarships and Test Fee Waivers Applicable for 5-year BA. LL.B. Candidates


 

  1. 3 (Three) scholarships of Rs.20,000 each to the first three meritorious candidates
  2. 10 (Ten) test fees waivers of Rs.3,500 each to the first ten meritorious candidates

 



Eligibility Criterion & Terms for Scholarships & Test Fee Waivers:


 

  1. Candidates need to have valid LSAT—India 2010 test scores (please visit http://pearsonvueindia.com/lsatindia/index.html for more details on the LSAT—India).
  2. To be eligible for a scholarship award, the candidate must enroll with any BCI recognized law college of their choice across India (in the 5-year BA. LL.B./3-year LL.B./LL.M. courses commencing 2010).
  3. Test fee waivers will be awarded only on the basis of the candidate’s LSAT—India score. There is no other requirement.
  4. Eligible candidates can receive both the Pearson law scholarship and test fee waiver.
  5. Scholarship awardees will be announced on the LSAT—India website once the LSAT—India results are declared.
  6. The scholarship awardees will be required to submit copies of the fee receipt issued by the BCI approved law college they have joined. Fee receipt copies must be attested by the college authorities with a stamp. The fee receipts copy is to be sent to the address which will be notified on the LSAT—India website as well as notified by e-mail to scholarship awardees. The duly attested fee receipt copy must be received on or before September 30, 2010 by Pearson. If the fee receipt copy is not received by September 30, 2010 then Pearson will not entertain any representation in this matter.
  7. The scholarship cheque/draft will be mailed out to eligible candidates who submit fee receipts in time, at the address provided by them in the LSAT—India registration form. These cheques/drafts will be mailed by October 31, 2010.
  8. The test fee waiver award cheques will be mailed out to eligible candidates at the address provided by them in the LSAT—India registration form. These cheques will be mailed within 1 month of the LSAT—India result declaration.
  9. The decision of Pearson on the award of scholarships and test fee waivers will be final and binding.
